Carline, Arrival & Dismissal

Use the 64 Thomas Johnson Drive carline plan

Arrival and dismissal work best when everyone arrives at the correct time, follows the traffic maps, keeps students entering and exiting from the passenger side, and has the school-issued pick-up card ready.

8:30-8:55Morning carline

No Early Queuing

Do not arrive before carline start times or queue on Thomas Johnson Drive.

Use Carline Entrance

Follow the traffic-flow maps to the carline entrance at the back of the school and follow staff direction.

Passenger Side

Students should enter and exit from the passenger side for traffic safety.

Carline Card Required

Display your school-issued pick-up card so staff can call students efficiently.

  • Do not park, wait, or queue on Thomas Johnson Drive or in neighboring business lots.
  • Have the school-issued pick-up card ready for dismissal.
  • For early dismissal, pick-up changes, transportation updates, or extra carline pick-up cards, contact the school office.

Approaching the School

When the parking lot entry is closed or carline is full, use public roads only. Traffic approaching from the north should pass the school entrance, use the Thomas Johnson Court circulation path, and return toward the school without turning left from southbound Thomas Johnson Drive. Parking or queuing on Thomas Johnson Drive is illegal and may result in a fine. Do not use neighboring business lots.

Morning Carline

  • Morning carline opens at 8:30 AM and closes at 8:55 AM.
  • Use one lane, follow staff direction, and drop off only at the marked drop-off zone.
  • Left turns into or out of the lot are not permitted while carline is open.
  • Use the turnout if your student needs extra assistance.

Afternoon Carline

  • Afternoon carline runs 3:30-4:00 PM Monday-Thursday and 2:30-3:00 PM on Fridays.
  • Have your pick-up card ready so staff can call your student.
  • Follow the three-lane traffic pattern and merge when directed by staff.
  • Use the turnout if you are waiting for a student, a second call, or extra loading time.

Pre-K3 Pick-Up

  • Pre-K3 pick-up begins at 11:30 AM and closes at 11:45 AM.
  • Left turns are permitted during Pre-K pick-up only; use caution when turning.
  • Park and walk to the carline entrance doors with your pick-up card.
  • If you arrive after 11:45 AM, park in the visitor lot and proceed to the front office.

Late Pick-Up or Changes

  • Call the office if you are running late or need to change pick-up plans.
  • Students not picked up by the end of dismissal will wait in the multi-purpose room while the office contacts guardians and emergency contacts.
  • Students leaving before the end of the school day must be signed out through the office.
